If you need to crop, select the crop tool, click clear to remove any presets and type in the dimension of the side to be cropped. When you drag the marque you will now see the cropped image. (Setting the snap to document bounds makes this easier. VIEW > SNAP-TO > DOCUMENT BOUNDS.)

Please Note: All monitors show colours slightly differently. To minimise this problem, set Adobe RGB (1998) as your RGB working space (EDIT > COLOUR SETTINGS). Also it is a really good idea to profile your monitor if you have not already done this - as a minimum use Adobe Gamma (see your manual). We profile using a Gretag Macbeth Eye-One Display2 colourimeter for neutral monitor colours.
Make any adjustments you want including levels, saturation and colour balance (its worth remembering that a little saturation is lost as the image is printed as paper is not as bright as the screen image. I usually get the image saturation looking right on screen and then add between +10 and +20 to colour saturation.)

Finally (and you should always save an unsharpened version for archiving before you do) - sharpen the image using your preferred method. I use the unsharp mask filter (as a start point for moderate sharpening try: amount 225%, radius 0.5, threshold 1). Again add a little more sharpening than you would for screen viewing - but don't overdo it as oversharp images do not look natural.
